We get busy doing so many other things and running so many other directions, we just fall behind. When that happens it seems to take a while to catch up, it is easier if we just maintain.
I received this book in the mail to do a review. I couldn’t wait to read it to my granddaughter. I love the pictures in The Witches Mess. They are so well illustrated, bright, and colorful. My granddaughter loved the book, in fact, she loved it so much I read it to her twice in a row and her mom read it to her again, right after that.
My first thoughts
When I first received it I thought it would be a book for Halloween and I would just save it until Halloween was closer. When I opened the book and started to read, it wasn’t anything like I expected it to be. It isn’t a Halloween book. It is a great book for everyday reading. But then even holiday books are great books for everyday reading.
The storyline in the book is cute and very entertaining! I think, it is a storyline a child can easily relate to and they can easily understand it. The message in the book teaches friendship, compromise, and forgiveness. I think the message of the book is very good for kids to hear. They can follow along easily and understand the storyline.
I won’t reveal much of the story, because I don’t want to spoil it for you. You can order a copy for you on Amazon.
This is a small portion of what the Author/Illustrator Jason Bessler reveals on the inside of the cover of the book.
A story about a young messy witch, Brindal and her best friend, a magic broom named Broom. Broom becomes overwhelmed by Brinadal’s constant “mess making” which he finds himself cleaning up. Broom finally snaps!
