to make some delicious homemade ice-cream or just to satisfy the curiosity of what goats milk tastes like. Her milk was so creamy and delicious. We no longer milk Cookie. She is retired, but we are lucky enough to have her with us still and her grandkids.
Cookie is a 15 year old Nubian goat. She was a triplet when she was born. She had a brother I named Oreo because he had a white stripe around his belly and so she had to be Cookie. Her sister I named Miss Ellie. Her mom was my first Nubian goat. Her name was Tillie. Well Cookie was a tiny little thing when she was born. I ended up feeding her on a bottle. She was so sweet and cute. I left her in the pen with her mom to learn how to act like a goat, but she was definitely my baby. She followed me everywhere. She quickly became my favorite goat.
Through the years Cookie has had lots of babies and then her babies had babies and so on. That is how she earned the name Grandma Cookie. She is one of the characters in the book “The Christmas Gift, A story told by Grandma Cookie”. She is loved by everyone.
Cookie has a few things that she loves. She loves to be loved. She will stand on the side of the fence and stretch her neck out to give anyone standing close kisses. She really enjoys her back rubbed and her neck and thinks everyone that comes to visit is coming just for that reason.
Cookie loves animal crackers. She sticks her nose out as far as she can and then sticks her tongue out to reach a cookies. One of the cutest things about Cookie is her smile. She is a funny, happy goat!
